About our Chinese Classes
Over 20 Years of Experience in Teaching Chinese
Our Chinese program is built on over two decades of experience and a passion for teaching. Led by highly experienced and passionate instructors, our classes are designed to make learning Chinese both fun and effective for young students.
We believe in teaching more than just the language — our curriculum also introduces students to Chinese culture and history, giving deeper meaning to their language learning.
- Teacher to Student Ratio = 1:12
Beginner Chinese Class
We begin with Hanyu Pinyin, the phonetic system that introduces students to proper pronunciation using letters similar to the English alphabet. This makes it fun and approachable for beginners.
Using colorful flashcards, games, and songs, students learn in an engaging and interactive environment that helps build a strong foundation in speaking and listening skills.
Intermediate Chinese Class
As students advance, we begin incorporating simplified Chinese characters into lessons. Students explore:
- Character structure and stroke order
- Basic sentence formation
- Chinese history and cultural context
Students will practice reading, writing, and speaking, including writing exercises and conversational role play. Emphasis is placed on practical usage and consistent practice to reinforce learning.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Short-day/early dismissal fees are additional to the monthly tuition. As long as the student stays during the short-day period (1:40pm-2:40pm), we will require the short-day fee. Average 4 Mondays/month = $40
If students will NOT be staying during for the short-day due to other activities, you do not need to pay the additional fee.
During the short-day/early dismissal, students will resume standard classroom tutoring for the extra hour(s).
Our billing is on a monthly cycle, starting from the 1st of every month. At the end of the month, we will send an invoice for the upcoming month.
Since billing is monthly, parents have the flexibility to adjust hours needed on a monthly basis (e.g. 2 Hours to 3 Hours, etc).
Our enrollment is open year-round. You can enroll at anytime. If you are enrolling in the middle of the month, we will prorate the monthly tuition for you.
You can withdraw and re-enroll at anytime in the year. The registration fee ($50) that you pay during enrollment maintains your account for up to 2 years. If your child has not attended in more than 2 years, a new registration fee will be required upon enrollment.
Please note: We only offer prorated refunds within the first 5 business days after payment is received. If you would like to withdraw from the program in the middle of the month, we will not be able to offer a refund.
Our monthly tuition rate takes into account sick/absent days. Absent days or unattended class-time cannot be refunded or credited back. There is no refund or credits provided for students that are picked up early.
As always, please feel free to discuss with us. We try our best to be flexible and accommodating. We would be happy to help you with your planning.
Yes – for months with less than 17 school days, we prorate the tuition to accommodate the shorter school month. For example, Winter Break, we typically prorate for both December and January for the 3 week break.
For shorter school holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.), we still go by the monthly tuition.
Note: The monthly tuition is based on the average of 20 school days/month. This average takes into account shorter school months (holidays or school breaks), as well as longer school months with more than 20 school days.
With advanced notice, we can add an extra hour for that day ($10/extra hour).
Our late pick-up fee is $10.00 for every 15 minutes late.
Yes, extra hours are $10/hour.
Please let us know at least a day in advance if you are adding an extra hour for the next day. Extra hours will be added on to the next upcoming invoice.
Kinders: When students are done with their homework, we will read 2-3 books with them daily, work on sight words, penmanship and writing. During KinderTime (1:40pm-2:40pm), students will also work on RazKids (reading app) or SplashMath on iPads as part of their school assignment.
All Grades: When students are finished with their homework, we encourage them to read or study for upcoming tests. If students have Kumon homework, we can help them with this as well. Parents can also supply additional workbooks for after-school.
If there is additional downtime, kids can also play boardgames that we have in the classroom during their free time.
Please let us know if there are specific subjects or areas that your child needs extra help on (math, reading, etc.).
